Yes, in 1946 Casio was established and their first product was a finger ring that would hold a cigarette, allowing the wearer to smoke the cigarette down to its nub and not run the risk of burning your hands. After seeing electronic calculators in 1949; they switched their role and went into producing calculators.

Weird?cigarettes to calculators. Who knew. I do know that the first calculators worked using gears and could be operated by hand using a crank or using a motor. Oh how times have changed.

Casio did develop the first electronic calculator in Japan though using solenoids. Granted the first model was literally desk-sized. Imagine trying to crunch numbers on a daily bases using a life size calculator.
