What forms of a stock certificate are there?

    Post Your Answer

  • hsomecn

Stock certificates are generally divided into two forms: registered stock certificates and bearer stock certificates.

  • dittenhoefer

A registered stock certificate is normally only evidence of title, and a record of the true holders of the shares will appear in the stockholder's register of the corporation.

  • GoolNick

A bearer stock certificate, as its name implies is a bearer instrument, and physical possession of the certificate entitles the holder to exercise all legal rights associated with the stock.

How can I get a stock certificate?

    Post Your Answer

  • Pvickman

The corporation you are holding stock in issues stock certificates, and you can get your certificate either directly from the issuing corporation, or by contacting your broker who may get the stock certificate on your behalf.

  • marshallm

Before online brokers and personally-directed accounts, holding a physical stock certificate was a necessity, as this was the only way to authenticate stock ownership. This is not the case anymore.

  • Novick22

Currently, stock certificates are seen more as collectibles and souvenirs than actual records of ownership.

  • cassharper

Solar is an investment that provides homeowners a risk-free, non-volatile, high return. Consider the monthly savings on your utility bill as a dividend from investing in a stock. That said, the return on your investment will be in the neighborhood of 6%-15%. For many, this is a much better investment option than a kitchen remodel, CD or shares of stock. What fraud possibilities are associated with penny stocks?

    Post Your Answer

  • kmarshall

People pump and dump. They inflate the price through false positives in order to sell the stock at a higher price.

  • phillyes

A more recent outbreak of penny stock fraud is far more brazen, and is based mostly overseas. Organized crime gangs in Eastern Europe and Asia will acquire a large number of shares of a moribund penny stock. Then, using passwords and logins to electronic brokerages, which they have stolen in various forms, they will use the hijacked customer accounts to buy up shares, while at the same time selling their own shares, draining the customer accounts and leaving their victims holding thousands of shares of worthless penny stocks.

  • thomasleeds

Chop stocks: which are stocks purchased for pennies and sold for dollars, providing both brokers and stock promoters massive profits. Brokers are often paid "under the table" undisclosed payoffs to sell such stocks

    Are penny stocks volatile?

    Post Your Answer

  • DGDavis

Penny stock is that they are highly volatile. Basically, if you invest in penny stock, you should always be prepared for the possibility of losing the whole investment.

  • URPonzini

They are but their appeal is why people invest in them. These stocks can easily jump 20-30% in a single day, and even more. Once I invested in penny stock that jumped 87% in one day, and I sold the day after.

  • leemorelli

Also, an important thing to know is that penny stocks may trade infrequently, which means that it may be difficult to sell penny stock shares once you own them. But this can be avoided by not buying stocks that have low trading volume.

What services do a stock broker provide?

    Post Your Answer

  • rhetprof

Execution-only, which means that the broker will only carry out the client's instructions to buy or sell.

  • diablo27

Advisory dealing where the broker advises the client on which shares to buy and sell, but leaves the final decision to the investor.

  • pnguyen

Discretionary dealing... the stockbroker ascertains the client's investment objectives and then makes all dealing decisions on the client's behalf. In addition to actually trading stocks for their clients, stock brokers may also offer advice to their clients on which stocks, mutual funds, etc. to buy.

  • KarenLee

What do stock brokers deal with?

    Post Your Answer

  • RLFricks

A stock broker would deal with shares. Shares and stocks have the same definition; a share is a section of a company that a stockbroker can buy and sell if he/she has a suitable amount of money.

  • OWlong

The stockbroker possesses a number of shares; however he or she can choose how many of these he or she wishes to trade, so that perhaps some can be kept for him or her. Keeping an amount is understandable, because stock-broking is a risky business. This is because the prices that shares are worth are constantly increasing and decreasing, depending on how much money the company you are dealing with, is producing.

  • horowitz59

They then continue trading at what they think are suitable times ?when it is unlikely for the price of a share to alter (to start with he or she could buy that share back for 50p and sell it again, to another client).

What are some helpful tips when it comes to stock investing?

    Post Your Answer

  • prKent

Just keep it simple?don't try to become a cash cow right off the bat. Especially in our current market, there is not a good chance for that to happen. Invest in companies that are have limited effect in whatever is going on in the world right now. Invest in something everyone needs, even buy minimal shares if the prices are too high to invest a lot because at least you know that little chunk of money will grow over time. Just be smart and keep it simple.

  • marshamar

Invest with patients. Most people that jump around from stock to stock end up getting shot in the foot at some point or another. Pick your rate of risk, decide if you want to focus on specific companies or group funds, be patient and have realistic expectations.

  • pstuckey

Buy low, sell high. The standard phrase for investing. Don't be stubborn with your stocks. There is a fine line from being patient to being stubborn and this is ever more true when investing. Listen to your gut, not your greed.

How are daily stock prices determines?

    Post Your Answer

  • cshety

Supply and demand. If an item is hot then it has a higher price value because more people want it. If it is less popular then less value is given.

  • machinisma

Supply and demand is a 2 way street. If consumers are buying whatever the product/service is the prices are up and vice versa. If more people are wanting to buy the company not based on shelf popularity then the price will go up and vice versa. So it's up to us consumers and the buyers and sellers in the stock market.

  • jonathonvet

Economy, Politics, Terrorism and Natural Disasters greatly influence stock prices as well. They are givens and usually the most frequent instances that these sort of effects happen results in a fall of the market.
