  A lot of the difference and reasons why iPod is more domminant in the mp3 world is the way they have marketed it and a already established base of Mac fans. Ipods do generally have more memory in a smaller frame so that? a plus to them. Also they have the iTunes program so thats a big positive note for mp3 buyers because it makes getting the music and loading everything simpler.

  What sucks though is you cant download and play any iTunes music on any other mp3 player so it's hard to tell what songs will work and what won't. I guess that? a plus for iPod since it gives them exclusive rights. Their downside is that iPods are more expensive. You can get any other mp3 player for like half the price.

  Mp3 players have FM radio and voice recorders the iPod does not. You can put scan disks in some other mp3 players also to have additional memory and portability to music/files. Some mp3 players have a better and more interactive screen as well. It really just depends on your style.

  To save yourself time and memory then yes. Mp3's are the smallest format of music file and tend to be more reliable when syncing and playing muic.

  True, I don't have an MP3 convertor but mix some songs for fun and can only transfer them as a WAV file which is about quadruple the memory capacity.

  Some mp3's still will not play right on portable music players because there is something wrong with the file but that? the only reason. Mp3's are the suggested format to use?hence why they are called Mp3 players.

  Basically the same as CD quality?I don't hear much of a different using a mp3 player and it makes sense because you are playing the files directly.

  It depends on what you download first. The bitrate determines quality. Most downloads say either 128, 192 or 320. To me 128 is radio quality, 192 is CD quality and 320 is just a CD turned up louder. I liked to download 192 as much as I can. Newer songs fresh off CD's jump from like 64 to 320 althroughout the song so those are best. You should be able to tell by ear but normally a 192 is pretty good.

  What you are playing it on matters most. The mp3 just plays what you downloaded and doesn? really effect or harm the quality. You can buy higher quality headphones that make a noticeable difference and in my car all I did was buy a newer CD deck from the original equipment player and it made a huge huge difference! My stock speakers sound like high end speakers now and the sounds quality is awesome! I feel like I have a sub but I don't and people that I know that do have subs have said the same thing.

  Anything nowadays?there are different cases or skins you can buy - different types of headphones - armbands - and even a pretty cool Nike thing with iPod that they have now which lets you record your work outs and what not?catch is you need the right shoes and the iPod program but I heard its pretty cool.

  There are all sorts of adapters for your car and and stereos - to play or charge. Tons of different kinds of docks so you can play them at all times from a individual stereo dock system. I even read a crazy story that Japan has come out with a solar powered bra that charges your iPod. I'm not sure how they can solar power a bra since MOST women don't wear them without a shirt over... beats me but more power to them ???

  Weird?whats cool to do is get a water proof case and feel comfortable playing your mp3 player around water. Me and my friends always take an annual float trip and I bought a case for my nano and then like a $6 aux cord from radio shack and plug it into a portable CD player and we can listen to any music we want on the river all day long. Battery usually dies out perfectly as we are finishing up so its great music all day.
